Will the Mic Work With My Phone?

The microphone uses a standard 3.5mm plug. It plugs straight into phones that still have a headphone jack. Most newer phones and all recent iPhones don’t have one, so you’ll need a USB-C to 3.5mm or Lightning to 3.5mm adapter that supports microphone input (not every adapter does). If you want to skip cables altogether, a wireless lavalier like the Plokama VM-80 is the easier option.

Batteries for the LED Light

The light runs on two AA batteries. Use fresh alkaline cells such as the Camelion AA batteries, or rechargeable ones like the Ronin Fuel Pro AA if you film often. Turn the light down when you don’t need full brightness and the batteries last longer.

Who Is the AY-49 Vlogging Kit For?

It’s a good starter kit for students, small shops filming product videos, teachers recording lessons, home cooks and anyone starting a TikTok or YouTube channel.
