Noise Cancellation and Transparency
The hybrid ANC uses microphones inside and outside each earbud to reduce steady low-frequency sounds, which is where most daily noise comes from on the road, in rickshaws and in offices. Xiaomi rates it at up to 42dB in a certain frequency range, so voices and sudden sounds still come through a little. Long-press an earbud to switch noise control, or use transparency mode when you need to hear what’s around you.
Clear Calls, Even Outdoors
Two microphones and an AI noise suppression algorithm pick out your voice from the noise around you, and a T-shaped wind-noise structure keeps calls usable on a bike or a windy street, up to about 6m/s of wind.
Sound Quality and EQ
A large 12.4mm driver with a titanium-coated diaphragm gives the Buds 8 Lite more bass and detail than you would expect at this price. In the Xiaomi Earbuds app you can choose Standard, Enhance treble, Enhance bass, Enhance voice or Volume boost, or set your own custom EQ. They use SBC and AAC, so they work well with both Android phones and iPhones.
Battery Life and Charging
You get up to 8 hours of music per charge with ANC off, and up to 36 hours in total with the case. A quick 10-minute charge gives about 2 hours of playback when the case has at least 20% battery. Xiaomi says the earbud battery lasts 14.2% longer than the Redmi Buds 6 Lite. The case charges over USB Type-C.
