Why People Love It
- Play straight away: the games are already on the card. Switch it on, pick a system, and start playing.
- Bigger 4-inch screen: a sharp 720 x 720 IPS display, so classic games look clean and text is easy to read.
- Real controls: two analogue sticks, a D-pad and shoulder buttons, which suit fighting, racing and shooting games.
- Long sessions: a 3000mAh removable battery that charges over Type-C, with about 4 to 5 hours of play per charge, depending on the game.
- Room for more: add your own games with a memory card up to 256GB.
- A gift that gets used: kids find new favourites, and parents get back the games they grew up with.

R36 Plus vs R36S: Which One to Buy

What It Plays Well
It runs PS1 and older systems very smoothly. Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, DS and PSP games depend on the game, and heavier titles can slow down. It’s a retro console, so it won’t run modern games like PUBG or Free Fire, and because the screen is square, older games may show small bars or can be stretched to fill it.
